SUMMARY:Embracing New Life – Pregnancy\, Birth & Motherhood in Faith
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Emma O’Connell \n\n\n\nNB This event was originally scheduled for 24th February \n\n\n\nThe National Board of Catholic Women is launching a new way of accompanying women. One that honours the depth\, complexity\, and beauty of women’s lives. \n\n\n\nCatholic Women Walking with Women: A Faith Journey Through Life’s Seasons is a year-long webinar series designed to meet women where they truly are\, in the real circumstances and rhythms of life\, and to explore how God walks with us in every season. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis session features Emma O’Connell as she speaks on: \n\n\n\n\nThe spiritual significance of pregnancy and motherhood\n\n\n\nCatholic teachings on life and parenting\n\n\n\nFinding strength in prayer and the sacramental life\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Walking with Women:\n\n\n\nGod is already at work in the lives of women; at every age\, every stage\, and every experience. The Church is called to walk alongside women as they discover His presence. \n\n\n\nWomen’s faith journeys are not linear. They move through transitions\, joys\, losses\, questions\, and new beginnings. Each stage shapes our sense of identity\, vocation\, and relationship with God. This initiative seeks to create a place where women can reflect on: \n\n\n\n\nWhere is God in this moment of my life?\n\n\n\nHow is this stage shaping my faith\, my relationships\, my purpose?\n\n\n\nWhere have I found grace\, strength\, challenge\, or consolation?\n\n\n\n\nAcross the twelve months\, the series accompanies women from young adulthood to later life: exploring love\, motherhood\, work\, grief\, purpose\, menopause\, caregiving\, single life\,grandparenting\, retirement\, and the search for meaning in changing circumstances. \n\n\n\nIt makes space for experiences often held in silence: miscarriage\, infertility\, loneliness\, vocational uncertainty\, and the longing for community. \n\n\n\nEach webinar will feature guest speakers (theologians\, pastoral leaders\, Catholic authors\, and everyday women sharing experiences)\, guided reflections\, Q&A discussions\, networking\, and prayerful moments.

SUMMARY:Discerning Love - Engaged Catholic Women & The Journey to Marriage
DESCRIPTION:The National Board of Catholic Women is launching a new way of accompanying women. \n\n\n\nThis session features Weronika Felcis as she speaks on:The Sacrament of Marriage: Vocation & PreparationNavigating faith\, values\, and expectations as a coupleThe role of community \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Weronika Felcis\n\n\n\nWeronika Felcis is a Catholic sociologist and social activist who brings an interdisciplinary perspective to her work across Europe. Educated in Poland and England\, she has lived in Latvia for over a decade and describes herself as a “Pole among Latvians.” She is the mother of four children and has been happily married for almost fifteen years. \n\n\n\nWeronika has been active in Andante since 2018 as a member of the Latvian Catholic Women’s Association and Tekla\, and in May 2025 became Andante’s first Eastern European Co-President. Her work is shaped by a deep commitment to service\, guided by her belief that true greatness is measured not by what we possess\, but by how many people we serve. \n\n\n\nAbout Women Walking with Women:\n\n\n\nGod is already at work in the lives of women; at every age\, every stage\, and every experience. The Church is called to walk alongside women as they discover His presence. \n\n\n\nWomen’s faith journeys are not linear. They move through transitions\, joys\, losses\, questions\, and new beginnings. Each stage shapes our sense of identity\, vocation\, and relationship with God. This initiative seeks to create a place where women can reflect on: \n\n\n\n\nWhere is God in this moment of my life?\n\n\n\nHow is this stage shaping my faith\, my relationships\, my purpose?\n\n\n\nWhere have I found grace\, strength\, challenge\, or consolation?\n\n\n\n\nAcross the twelve months\, the series accompanies women from young adulthood to later life—exploring love\, motherhood\, work\, grief\, purpose\, menopause\, caregiving\, single life\, grandparenting\, retirement\, and the search for meaning in changing circumstances. It takes space for experiences often held in silence: miscarriage\, infertility\, loneliness\, vocational uncertainty\, and the longing for community. \n\n\n\nEach webinar will feature guest speakers (theologians\, pastoral leaders\, Catholic authors\, and everyday women sharing experiences)\, guided reflections\, Q&A discussions\, networking\, and prayerful moments.

SUMMARY:NBCW Book Club: For the Good of the Church
DESCRIPTION:The NBCW invites you to discuss their latest book club pick: For the Good of the Church by Gabrielle Thomas. The focus of the book is the concept of receptive ecumenism and how it can help churches. \n\n\n\nYou can buy the book directly from SCM Press or from Eden. The NBCW have a few copies available to borrow. If you would like one sent to you please contact the Secretary. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin Zoom MeetingTopic: Book ClubTime: Dec 8\, 2025 07:45 PM LondonJoin Zoom Meetinghttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/87054837630?pwd=kKfGEeU0y7G5d5oMJPzwkIr9ZKLlal.1 \n\n\n\nMeeting ID: 870 5483 7630Passcode: 006361 \n\n\n\n\nWhat do we need to learn and receive from the other to help us address challenges or wounds in our own tradition? That is the key question asked in what has come to be known as ‘receptive ecumenism’. And nowhere is this question more pressing and pertinent than in women’s experiences within the church. \n\n\n\nBased on qualitative research from five focus groups\, ‘For the Good of the Church‘ expose the difficulties women face when they work in a church – sexism\, unfulfilled vocation\, and abuse of power and privilege\, as well as the wide range of gifts and skills which women bring in light of these. \n\n\n\nThe second part of the book continues to draw on the particular wounds and gifts\, which arise in the focus groups. Specific case studies are used to identify gifts of theology\, practice\, experience\, vocation and power. \n\n\n\nAgainst negative prognoses of an ‘ecumenical winter’\, Gabrielle Thomas reveals how radically different theological and ecclesiological perspectives can be a space for learning and receiving gifts for the well-being of the whole Church.
