- It was clarified that Jacintha Bowe’s role as Vice President will have an emphasis on Formation & Participation.
- We have new Diocesan Link’s for Cardiff & Menevia – Kathleen Champ and for Portsmouth – Evelyn Brooks.
- We are in dialogue with a number of different diocese who are awaiting Diocesan Links.
- A new Diocesan Link should receive:
- A bundle of 50 leaflets for recruitment purposes.
- A date for a formal 6 month and 1 year check in to make sure that the role is a good fit and and that the Diocesan Link has the support she needs.
- An email asking a set of standard questions to post on the website under the title “Introducing Hilda Deiran, Diocesan Link for Hexham and Newcastle”.
- Saturday 11th October: Accompaniment training for the committee convenors and Diocesan Links. The Diocesan Links and Convenors will have separate sessions, tailored to their specific roles in the Board but both will be focused on accompaniment. All Diocesan Links and Convenors are invited to stay on the Friday evening/night as well for an optional social gathering.
- Progress on goals and targets set in the grant from Catholic Trust of England and Wales (CaTEW), was discussed. All areas of the commitments are being worked on.
- The signup/membership journey of new members needs to be improved in order to achieve our target for membership of 1,000 members. This is a priority for the Executive Committee.
- There is budget for further events and speakers to enable us to reach more women across England and Wales.
- A longer term project about the history of the NBCW is in the works.
