The NBCW are committed to ensuring the organisation operates safely and therefore fully upholds the National Safeguarding Standards of the Catholic Church in England and Wales.
- We support a culture of safeguarding through:
- Ensuring it is a standing item on our Annual meeting agendas and Executive Committee meetings
- Ensuring that our member organisations have signed up to uphold the National Safeguarding Standards
- Promoting the free training available to all Catholic volunteers in England & Wales
- Keeping records of Safeguarding training of NBCW leaders
- The NBCW Safeguarding lead is Margaret Clark
- The vast majority of our events are virtual, with risks assessed
- We seek advice and updates from the CSSA and the Bishop’s Conference of England and Wales regarding Safeguarding
